* What counts as a simple content edit?
Not all website changes are simple content edits. As a general rule of thumb, the following would count as simple content edits:
change/add/delete some text on a page, a banner image change, adding a blog post/page. The only condition here is that you provide the content in a digital format.
Non simple content edits may require extra cost, for example:
change/add new website functionality, a new page type with a brand new layout, changes to navigation, website re-brand.
If any changes you request aren't simple content edits, you'll be given an idea of cost beforehand.
Can I move over my existing WordPress website to your managed hosting?
If you pass the initial checks, then yes! "What are the initial checks?" you ask. Not all wordpress websites are built the same way. Some are more complex than others, and some are less secure. Think things like out of date themes, unused/out of date plugins etc.
One of the features of the managed hosting services is to ensure that all it's software is up to date (to keep out the baddies). So if your website has been somewhat neglected, there may need to be a discussion about fixing things up before it's moved across. The initial checks just to see what's currently going on in the website backend.
I don't currently have a WordPress website but would like to migrate my current site over to WordPress
This should be fine, but depends on the type of website that you currently have.
Websites that can't be transferred include, but are not limited to: joomla, wix, shopify (any e-commerce type website), squarespace and other websites built with on hosting platforms such as the godaddy website builder. For these types of website, a re-build would be your best option.

Can you manage the hosting of my e-commerce or WooCommerce website?
Unfortunately not. This service is only available for brochure or informational type websites.
Who is this service aimed at?
Solo-preneurs, freelancers, marketers & small business owners. Primarily service providers. You need a website as an online presence to promote to your potential customers. You may need a business blog or similar. Some businesses that use this service include: accountants, beauty salons, financial services, restaurant owners, sole traders and independent/freelance business professionals. None of whom are too fond of the admin side of maintaining their website.
Can you do the website transfer on our behalf?
Yes, just sent the details of your current hosting provider. This will usually include any required logins and contact with your current web developer (if you have one).
My website is currently hosted at wordpress.com, can you transfer this?
Yes, but please get in touch as what needs to be transferred across can vary from website to website.
Who owns the servers where the website will be hosted?
Your website will be hosted on shared servers at Heart Internet, a UK based hosting provider. Note that they provide a 99.9% uptime guarantee, on top of the support that this managed website service provides.

How much web hosting space is my website allowed to have?
Most websites shouldn't have a problem with space limitations. Web hosting space use used mostly by uploaded files such as images, documents etc. A common-sense approach is recommended, and any potential issues can be discussed if and when we get to them. If you have an enormous media gallery of images and videos, we might need to talk!
Is there a limit to the simple content edits I request?
No. But if you need many consistent changes every day, we may need a chat!
Can you write my content for me?
Unfortunately not.
If things don't work out, can I take my website with me?
I'd be sad to see you leave, but yes. Although your website won't be transferred away for you, a zip folder will be provided with all your website data.
Is there a minimum term I can host with you for?
There's no minimum spend/term for website hosting. However please note that if you choose to pay the yearly plan then the remainder can't be refunded. If you don't plan to hang around for the long term, then the monthly plan may be a better option for you. Though note that the yearly plan gives you 2 months free.
What is not included with this service that I should be aware of?
Search engine optimisation (how and where you appear on search engines). This is mostly influenced by how you write your content. Email hosting and support. Copywriting and content creation. Managing social media content. Proofreading :D.

What happens with my domain name registration?
You can keep the domain registered to yourself. This means you'll still have control of where the website address points to, as well as any renewal fees regarding your domain name.
